Description: Section 12 Anyone old enough to have watched Perry Mason knows what a sidebar is. It was when Perry went to the judge’s bench with the opposing (and always losing) counsel. It was done out of the hearing of the jury. But a sidebar is also those pesky bits of information that can found just about anywhere on the page. Our job as transcribers is to identify them, determine their relationship to the adjacent material, place them in the most appropriate location and even box them when necessary.
