Description: Computer software is commonly used in conjunction with braille translation software to create embossable (printable) tactile graphics. In light of this, graphic artists should consistently provide electronic files which contain accurate braille text and will correctly emboss within the parameters of a standard 11.5″ × 11″ braille page size.

In this webinar, we will create a file using Microsoft Word 2003 which is designed with simulated braille dots arranged in 40 horizontal cells and 25 vertical lines. This file will enable the user to copy and paste formatted braille text from any braille translation software into the document and draw directly onto the Word file if necessary.

Discussion in this webinar will include the process of adjusting page margins, size, and orientation, within Word. Furthermore, we will discuss the role font and paragraph settings play to ensure a proper binding margin.
